Something New...

I've been working on a new series aimed for younger readers called The Sentinel Archives. 

This series is also fantasy, but not allegorical like The White Road Chronicles. 

Let me tell you how I came to write it...
A few years back while I was teaching, I started an after school Young Writer's Club during the National Novel Writing Month season. I encouraged them to set a goal and try to write a story - and several of them did! Of course, they insisted I take on the 50,000 word challenge. And I did! Meaning I wrote during every spare moment, even staying in the quiet classroom well after everyone else went home. 

Anyway, I ended up with Malakai's story which at the time I called The Watchers. 
This story has not left me alone. But I kept pushing it aside. It wasn't right. Wasn't enchanting enough. It's hard to sell kids books when you go Indie. 

I had loads of excuses. But it simply wouldn't leave me alone. And finally, after several starting and stopping in the edits, trying to figure out how to make it better, things started to click. 

I think the story is better. It's a possible series. And it's been fun! I mean, I've really had a lot of fun revising it this time. And it's nearly ready to publish. However, most of my readers are teens and up. (I'm not going to guess how much up, so let's just leave it at that.) =D  

So, I've been pondering how to get this book to younger readers. And I finally came up with a plan. I'm going to practically give this first book away. I've begun loading the revised chapters onto Wattpad. Click the box above to be directed to my page. 

FYI: The Sentinels will only be up on Wattpad in its entirety until October 1st when it goes live on Amazon. 


But maybe you're not a Wattpadian? That's okay, because I have a plan B.
