When I first met Tarek in the very first Alburnium story, Illuminated, he was supposed to be a throw-away character. Little did I know at that time that Tarek had his own story that he wanted told.
Turns out, Tarek is not what he first seems. Not at all. If you have not read any of the White Road Chronicles or White Road Tales stories, be warned that there may be spoilers in this post. The first books of both series are available for free. Click the series page links to find out where you can get your copy

Alyra had everything stolen from her while she'd been under the Dark Lord's rule. Her memories, her past, and even her name!
But there was one thing he could not take from her...and that was her heart. It belonged to the King. The Medallion she kept hidden was testimony that she'd come from somewhere else, that she'd had a good life once. The entire six-book White Road Chronicles series is her journey to reclaim what was stolen. Read on to learn more about this enchanting character. Be warned, there might be a few spoilers ahead, so if you have not read Illuminated yet, you might want to go grab it for free, then come back here an read on. Though I love writing full-fledged inspirational fantasy novels, I have these little stories that I've been hanging on to for years now.
I've always thought it would be fun to write and illustrate picture books. Did you know that I was not only a teacher's aid in an elementary school, but I used to run the children's ministry at my church back in it's early years.? I'm amazed over this, too. Ha! During that time, when I was first called back to write stories, I'd get these silly little stories that would sometimes hit me at the oddest times. (Usually in the middle of the night, as usual) So, I'd get up in the morning and write them down. When our church was just a small gathering, the pastor would let me read these stories to everyone. The kids enjoyed them. So did some of the adults. That was quite nerve-wracking, let me tell you. But I learned something at that time. I learned that I could say things in stories that touched people's hearts. Even helped them at times. I learned the effectiveness of telling a parable. Sheep's Tale, was the first one to come to me. We all love a great deal. And most of us aren't too willing to spend money on something we aren't sure of.
I get it. It's the same for trying out new authors. That's why so many of us put first books in a series for free. We want to give you a chance to get to know us, our writing style, and see if we will be a good fit. So, today I'm going to offer you a list of virtual bookstores that can be delivered right to your mailbox. I have no affiliations with any of these sites. I have promoted books on a few of them. But they do offer a good lists of books daily, some weekly. All do require that you sign up with your email address. |
