In the highs and the lows-- I will find contentment... I will...with His help... manage the hard things. He will show me ways to make it work, to thrive, to use what I have. ALL-- That's the good and the bad that come my way. I can face it all...through Him. I can find my way...with Him. That's the beauty of this journey.
Even if I can't see where things are going, He will get me there.

The Lord’s Prayer
“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’” Matthew 6:9-13 All writers have that special place where we spin our stories. Some writers enjoy moving about while others need to have one dedicated spot or they can't find the right vibe. I'm somewhere in between. While I have a special place to write, plan, and all that stuff, I still enjoy moving around, sitting on the porch, or visiting a coffee shop. Still, I wanted my special spot to be a little over the top. A place that would inspire my mind to travel down those wooded paths and to envision those fantastical creatures. Click the read more to see a few more snippets of my crazy little workspot. Yes, there are vines and flowers hanging from the ceiling. Oh, I'm just getting started. My goal is to have the whole room covered in lights and greenery.
Around the holidays, I always keep my eyes open for fun little ornaments: mermaids, unicorns, dancing hippos and little gnomes. Dragons and centaurs guard my book shelves. Butterflies and birds perch along the vines. It's fun and makes me smile. I could have one of those pretty, in style rooms, but that simply isn't me. Nope, not at all. I like different, quirky, and unusual. Be strong of of good courage, do not fear or be afraid of them for the Lord you God, He is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you, nor forsake you. Deut. 31:6 Photo by Priscilla Du Preez on Unsplash AbideTo remain stable or fixed in a state. To continue in a place, to accept without objection. To trust in our God and to believe that He is with us and will speak to us. That he loves us and will take care of us in times of good and bad. With Him on our side, what do we have to fear? Honestly? He loves us. He wants to walk with us. He wants us to depend on him. Dive into his word. Learn His ways. Learn a better way to live, to love, to get along in this world. With the release of the Phoenix Province Series, Book 2- Blade of Embers, I thought a reintroduction of the heroes in this series was in order.
The Phoenix Province is a fairytale retelling loosely based on Cinderella. Rillion, or Cinderillion of the Phoenix House feels that she is destined to become a great warrior. However, her father, Regent Kenrich of the Karm Province wants her to learn how to become a proper lady. Her lofty ideas of leaving their struggling province to travel to the elusive White City are out of the question. He has other plans for his only child. Sterlyn, from the Raven House of Kaim Province, is the second born forgotten son. His older brother, Bartram is destined to become the next Regent in line, whether he wants to or not. This is his legacy. This is what is expected of Bartram. What is expected of Sterlyn is something he wants no part of...or so he believes. I've been a believer all my life. Yet, understanding how prayer works, how to pray effectively, and even understanding why I want to learn this, came much, much later. There is something about having God's ear, about knowing that he is not only listening to me, but he wants to listen, to help, to be a part of my life. This deep-hearted understanding has helped to keep me from feeling alone. Isn't it crazy how alone we can feel at times, even in a world full of people, even in a house full of family? We think that nobody understands us. That nobody really cares. That nobody is listening. I'm here to tell you that is a lie from the enemy. It's not true. You are valuable. You have been created for a purpose here on earth and into eternity. God paid a great price so that you can get close to Him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows. Luke 12:6-7 (ESV) Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand... Isa. 41:10 Get to know Jesus well... Because the more you know him, the more you'll love him. The more you love him, the more you'll want to follow him. The more you follow him, the more you'll become like him. The more you become like him, the more you become your true self. Photo by J. Balla Photography on Unsplash Father God, Help me to see Your Son clearly in my life. Help me to become a little more like him, each and every day. Speak to me through your word, through your beautiful world, and through your wonderful children, to encourage my heart to seek you more. In following Jesus and his examples, may I also find who you created me to be, and the perfect plans you have designed for my life. Thank you, Father, for your loving kindness. Amen Welcome to my new series of blog posts about becoming an Effective Prayer Warrior. If you want to step out of the mundane, to rise above the chaos of this world and society’s way of thinking, then that change starts with effective prayer. If you want to see changes, but feel they are beyond your abilities to make a difference, I want to direct you to what God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14-- If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. This promise is just as truthful as it was back when it was first penned. Come along, and let’s take a little journey toward learning how to become a true Prayer Warrior so that you can make a difference in the Kingdom of God and the world we live in. So I did a fun little thing. I created a coloring book.
This first coloring book is actually a journaling coloring book. There are pages full of inspirational sayings and scriptures, alongside pages where you can journal your thoughts and dreams. In a world full of confusion and discord, I wanted to create something that would encourage people to smile and think about uplifting and good things. |
