How Can We Develop Joy In Our LivesStuck in rush-hour traffic? Kids going nuts and your spouse has their head in the clouds or the TV? Daily life can be trying for the Child of God. Sometimes pressures grow until we fear that we might lose it. Right? Who’s with me here?
On my vision board for this year, I added that I want to find my Joy. My grand-doll wants to know where I lost it. She offered to help me look. Ha! She is a joy, let me tell you. But, kidding aside, I started to grow deeply discouraged between the confusing pandemic news and other stuff happening in our world, I needed to get out of the miry pit and back on the right track. Because here’s the truth, joy doesn’t come from circumstances, it comes from within each of us. Ready to talk about this? Here we go...

I was given the honor of receiving a complimentary copy of this charming collection of short stories. Read on to find out more and my thoughts.
Hello there! Yes, I’m still here, but I’ve had to take some time to slow down and re-evaluate where I’m going. Last year, I sort of lost my way. It happens from time to time when one is traveling through life. Have you ever felt like you lost your way?
I did this thing... And I plan to do it again.
Incase you weren't aware, I published a children's picture book! I wrote this little story years ago. It came to me in the middle of the night, as stories sometimes do. I saw this rambunctious little sheep (at the time he wore striped shorts and sunglasses-picture below) That original story is a little different, and a little longer than what I've ended up with in The Shepherd Leads Me. Which as left me with two more Sheep story ideas to tackle at a later date. For now, let's meet Sheep, Dog and the Shepherd. When I wrote Illuminated, I had been on a long hiatus from writing. I had kids to raise, and a home to run. My son was a preschooler. My daughter was in school. I was going to college for a degree in rehabilitation counseling. And then… A story presented itself to me.
Alyra’s story. If you’ve had a chance to read my books, then it will be no secret that I love stories that have a message, or what I call, “little nuggets” for a reader to find. When I come across books (or movies) like that, I will cherish them forever.
It’s also no secret I love Disney movies. Most of them. One came out late last year that has a lot of people talking. The music is lively and you can’t help but at least do a shoulder dance, if not shaking your thing across the living room or while you’re cooking in the kitchen. God directs our steps, but sometimes we need to sit down with him and map out where we are going. The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24 I’m going to be completely honest and transparent in this blog.
About six months ago, I seriously considered giving up on my dream of making a living off writing or even having a career as an author. The harder I seemed to pray, plan, and work at writing, the less I earned each month. Hello there!
I hope everyone is staying warm. Even down here in Texas, we are experiencing temps below normal. This is a perfect time for finding a huge book and wrap up in a fuzzy blanket to escape the cold with. Every month in 2022, I will pick a book from my backlist to celebrate. They will be birthday books, for sure. This month, I'm celebrating completing the novella series The White Road Tales. Five years ago, I put all the short stories into one big book and published it. You can start the prequel adventure to the White Road Chronicles series by reading Captured for free. Or...this week, you can snag the whole collection for ONLY .99¢!! That is a steal and something I do not do very often, at all. Grab it now while you can by clicking one of the pictures below. The Holidays are here!
Despite how much fun this season can be, it can also get tiring and hectic. For those who might need a break, or even an escape from the crazy, I wanted to share some of my discounted books. Some have a holiday theme. Some are adventures waiting to happen. Below I've listed each book, what it's about, and a link to find out more. Enjoy and Merry Christmas! Well, I didn't win. But I did win.
Ha! Read on to find out what craziness I'm talking about now. |
