An Inspirational Word about Blood and Water

Yesterday, my new fantasy series The Lionheart Province from the Chronicles of Alburnium released. 

Today, I want to talk about one of the themes in the story concerning our purpose and talents. 

Blood and Water is the first in a three book collection that follows the Grimm's fairy tale: The Maiden Without Hands. 

My hope is that the story will touch your spirit and encourage you in your daily walk.

Whether we ever realize it or not, everyone has a God-given purpose in this life. Not everyone figures out that purpose. Not everyone even acknowledges it. But that doesn’t make it any less true. And if you wonder why I’m so sure of this, it’s because of what I read in the Word.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10

Kardia and Leon, both from different worlds, have their own special purpose in Blood and Water. 

​Kardia’s purpose, her Sano gifting, has been suppressed, kept hidden from everyone, but not completely kept a secret, as we see from the beginning.

Sometimes, our talents are stifled by family or society who says we’re not good enough and never will be. Maybe they’re withheld by our own doubts and fears. Not to mention, there’s an enemy out there that’s determined to kill, steal, and destroy anything and anyone who might further God’s Kingdom.

If you’ve felt as if your talents or giftings have been repressed, stand strong and do not let fear hinder you. The kingdom needs your light in this dark world. Trust in the One who created you. He does not forget His promises and will not falter in His plans for your life.

But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Leon has been set on a path he is unsure he’s fit for. But as he undertakes the tour of the Province of Rodonal, he now must rule and care for, he is stretched beyond his comfort zone.

When the Lord puts a call on someone’s life, most often they are not fit for that calling. You see, when reading through the old testament stories, you’ll find that the Lord doesn't necessarily call the qualified. However, he will qualify those he calls in due time. 

Think of Gideon who hid in the well, but the Lord saw him as a mighty warrior. Or Abram, who never believed he would have children, who ended up being the father of many nations. What about the young shepherd boy, David, the youngest of the family, who grows up to become the king he was destined to be.

If you’re feeling as if you’re lacking, don’t lose heart. Your hope is in the Lord who will complete the work he’s started in your life.

 
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.

My hope is that as you read this new series, you’ll find encouragement to stand up and be the special person the Lord has called you to be.

Don’t listen to those who wish to hide your wonderful gifts. And don’t get discouraged because you think you’re not good enough. Keep your head held high and remember that if you’re still here, there’s a reason. Find out what it is and live to your full potential. That’s when we find true happiness and contentment in this world.
