When we pray according to God’s word, there is no room for dispute or doubt. God’s word is true. When we pray according to scripture, we are lining up our will and desires with those of God. Do you want your prayers to be effective? Find a scripture that backs up what you are praying for. Don’t forget to watch for your answers to come. Document them when they do so that you won’t forget God’s power in your life. Below are a few scriptures that I’ve collected and turned into prayers. I do not pray the scripture word-by-word. I want to make it personal. So, some of the words have been changes to fit my life and situation. If I’m praying for a friend, I will insert their name. Or if I’m praying for a situation, I do the same: naming the issue I need help with. Do you have a favorite scriptural prayer that I’ve not included? Share in the comments. I’m always on the lookout for more to collect. Isaiah 41:10 I will not fear, for you are with me. I will not be dismayed, for you are my God. You strengthen me to do the hard things. Yes! You promise to help me, and your promises are true. You will uphold me with your righteous right hand. Ephesians 3:17-19 Father God, expand my roots, deepen my reach so that I will remain grounded in your love and that I will have the strength to comprehend the breadth, length, height, and depth of your love that goes beyond my ability to understand. May your love constantly fill every fiber of my being. 1 Timothy 2:2- praying for our leaders I pray for all those who are in authority over my life, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Colossians 3:23-24 – prayer for your work/business May whatever I do be done wholeheartedly for you, Lord, and not for men. I know that my inheritance is found in you and that you will reward my efforts. May I remember that I am serving you, Lord Jesus, in everything I do. 1 Peter 4:10- Using our gifts for God’s purposes You, Father God, have given me special gifts from your variety of spiritual talents. May I use them to serve others and for the building of your kingdom. Praise scriptures: Psalm 59:16 I will sing of your strength. I will sing out loud of your steadfast love every morning. Psalm 100:1-4 I will make a joyful noise to you Lord of all the earth! I will serve you with gladness. I will come into Your presence with singing. For you are God who made us and we are yours. I am grateful to be called yours. I will enter your gates daily with thanksgiving and into Your courts with praise. I will bless your name. Romans 15:13- a prayer for hope I pray that God, our source of hope, will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in him. May we overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. There are so many more to pick and choose from. Make it a goal to find as many as you can. I collect them while I’m reading daily devotionals, or just browsing through the bible. When our prayers align with God’s word, they will indeed be a powerful weapon against anything the enemy throws our way.
I have three more of these lessons to make a complete ten. Next week we will talk about abiding in the Lord. I hope to see you then. Blessings and peace, J. Castle

Some great Scriptures there! How do you store them? Do you memorize them or what? I don't really have a good system. Although I try to work on Scripture memory every day, I could use a way to have those scriptures to pray more easily accessible than this old brain!

I write them on cards and add them to my prayer journal. Or I write out the prayer in my journal. I've tabbed the pages in my journal so that I know which pages deal with various topics I want to pray about.
