Entangled- Meet The Characters

Same old fairy tales - but with a modern twist from Promise Forever.

Everyone knows the stories of Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and more, but you haven't heard the stories quite like the ones in this limited edition set! Some of these tales take place in our time, others take place in the past or a fantasy world, but all of them will twist what you think of the old stories. This set has a PG-13 rating, so expect some language and moderate adult situations.

With more than 700 pages of captivating fiction, you’ll be enchanted by Merlin, dive the depths with the little mermaid, and fear whether the beast is friend or foe. 
Today, I want to introduce some of the characters that are in my story, Entangled.

Entangled- A Modern-day Rapunzel Retelling

​I’m caged in a magical world of In-Between. Lost to my past life and an enigma to the present. My future is shrouded in mystery and the only thing holding me in place is Liam.

Nobody knows the truth about Rachel Nightingale’s enchanted musical giftings, except her tutor, Master Marcus, and his nephew Liam who is a gifted violinist. When Rachel and Liam’s friendship develops into something deeper, something full of its own magical enchantments, they make a binding vow to never part from each other.

To be together forever, Liam must find a way to break the songbird free from her impenetrable cage.

Godmother Estelle magically built the sanctuary between the human world and the faerie’s realm where she'd hidden Rachel away from greedy eyes. She will not relinquish control over her protege without a fight in this modern-day Rapunzel retelling.

Rachel Nightingale

​This is not her real name, and she despises it. But it’s all she knows.

Rachel has extremely long golden blond hair, sky blue eyes and a heart-shaped face. She’s trim, delicate, almost faerie-like in her build and in her movements.

She is endowed with magical powers of music that enchants the listener, almost like a siren’s song. People flock to hear her melodic voice and her enthralling piano playing. 

Rachel has no friends, and is afraid to let anyone in. Until the beautiful violinist, Liam Shields, comes into her life.

Liam Shields

Liam has unruly chocolate brown hair that often falls into his face. He has golden-green eyes that speak of an old soul. His fingers are long and gentle. His face is outlined in thick brows and a thin beard.

He is quiet, melancholy, but passionate about his music and in his feelings for Rachel. They weren’t meant to ever meet, to ever have a chance to speak to each other. But when they were younger, his uncle felt sorry for the isolated songbird and though she was being treated unfairly. So when the Godmother wasn’t due to be around, he often gave them time to visit, to play together in the garden, not expecting that more than just a friendship might develop between them.

Godmother: Estelle Froste
Estelle is an outcasts from the Realm. Rumors have it that she was once a queen in the far northern regions where there was always snow and ice. 
But those are just rumors.
Now Estelle has been cast into World and in order to maintain her powers, she searches for other outcast that have interesting abilities.
She found Rachel when she came across a couple living on the fringe, shrouded places where Realm overlaps World and creates portals or weak places. 
The girl's father, or step-father, had sneaked into Estelle's garden greenhouse for a particularly powerful plant. When she caught the man stealing leaves from her precious plant, she planned to turn the thieving human into one of her slaves, but the mother made a deal with Estelle to take her daughter instead.
Once Estelle realized the girl was magical, she took her under her wing, hiding her safely in a special fold between worlds where nobody would ever find her. 
Rachel's music fueled Estelle's powers sufficiently until she grew greedy.

Master Marcus Shields

Sometimes, it's hard to tell who the good guy is vs. who the bad guy is.

Marcus is one of those characters.

Marcus is also a Scout, banished to World, but instead of collecting subjects to increase his powers, he deals in trades. 

He adopted Liam as his nephew because the boy was incredibly talented and has the ability of persuasion when he plays his violin. He can enchant people into doing things he wants when he plays music. 

Marcus knows a good thing when he sees it. Which includes Rachel Nightingale.

Ms. Wrenn

Ms. Wrenn is Rachel's tutor and confidant. She is practical, structured and ambiguous. There always seems to be something that Ms. Wrenn is keeping a secret, though the truth of the matter is that not even Ms. Wrenn remembers how she truly ended up in Estelle's sheltered Fold hidden between worlds. 

However, for Ms. Wrenn, it doesn't really matter. She is safe. Maybe the past is better forgotten.

She has been given a small cottage, off from the manor to live in. She loves the surrounding gardens and she enjoys tutoring the precocious Rachel, who has a strange link to her heart that she never understood. 

For now, that's good enough.
