If you've read my Madison Creek books, you'll know Haley moved from Texas up to the arctic land of Michigan. Not that it's always cold up there. There are about three months of warmth. Most of the time. Even in the summer, the temps can dip into the low 40s and that's just not right. At all. Which is why I sent Haley Madison up north. Because I always have a blast when I do go up there. (In the summers) And I thought she would, too. Although, I’ve visited in July and had to borrow a winter coat. True story. Why Michigan, of all places?I love Michigan. I love to visit. In the summer. My husband was born in the pinkie area of the glove. Now, I'm not a true southern girl. I come from Southern California. Hollywood, baby. Or in that area. =) So, I love the sunny sunshine and warm temperatures. However, in our early years of marriage, there was this small fear that we’d have to move up north one day. Maybe that’s where the inspiration for the setting of my first romance series came from. That, and the fact that my husband and I often wished someone would open a BBQ restaurant up there because we found the food kind of bland compared to what we’re used to. Ha! I think that when North meets South, like my marriage to my yankee husband, there’s a lot of fun to be had. And that’s how Madison Creek, Haley, and Ethan, all came to be.
