I feel like running a contest. The prizes will be ebook copies of Blood & Water and Silver & Light. How many depends on the response I get. What do you need to do? Help me name a baby. Keep reading for more details. A Word of Caution... If you've not read Blood & Water and Silver & Light then you are about to venture into SPOILER ALERT territory. You've been warned. It's no secret...That the Lionheart Province trilogy is a retelling of The Handless Maiden, a Grimm's fairy tale. If you've made the time to read the original story, you know the maiden has a baby. So, yes, Kardia and Leon will also have a baby. (But that's all I'm going to tell you) -- Ha! If you do read the original fairy tale, I want it to be known that I do follow some of the story...but not all of it. And certainly, not the ending. So there. Moving on. I'm about halfway through Gold & Fire and we have a baby. But no name. We need a name. However, there's a few things to keep in mind.
Contest RulesOffer your best boy and girl name - one name for each.
I'm not quite sure what she has yet... The last chapter I stopped at, she went into labor. 😏 I think that I know...but I might change my mind. So, give me one of each. Besides, I'm always looking for interesting names for future books. Kardia will only have the one baby, unlike someone else.... in a previous series. I will run the contest between now and May 29th. I'll pick a winner on the 30th. Again, it will depend on how many people participate. I'm only counting those who comment here, not on facebook or those who respond to my newsletter. If you want to win a free copy of Blood & Water or Silver & Light, then you need to enter by commenting below. When will you know what the baby was named? When Gold & Fire releases in July. You'll have to read the story and find out what happens. I know, that's kind of mean, but it's my game, my rules. 😁 If I do use a name that you picked... there might be a bonus prize that I'll announce before the third book is published. I'll have to think more about what to offer. I'll let you know. 😎 So, have fun and be creative. I enjoy unusual names. If you know the meaning of the name, share that, too. Thanks for stopping in. Happy Reading! J. R. C.

Josiah, from the house of Judah. One Israel's good kings. The name means, the fire of the Lord. I found it interesting that the name of his adopted mother Jedidah, means God's darling.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions on names. I'm still trying to decide which one I'm going to use.
