I did this thing... And I plan to do it again.
Incase you weren't aware, I published a children's picture book! I wrote this little story years ago. It came to me in the middle of the night, as stories sometimes do. I saw this rambunctious little sheep (at the time he wore striped shorts and sunglasses-picture below) That original story is a little different, and a little longer than what I've ended up with in The Shepherd Leads Me. Which as left me with two more Sheep story ideas to tackle at a later date. For now, let's meet Sheep, Dog and the Shepherd. What is this story about?
Sheep loves his Shepherd
He also loves sweet, yummy, delectable clover! His love for clover, and his desire to be the first to gobble it all up before the others, lands Sheep in to one problem after another. Despite the warning signs along the way. Will Sheep ever learn to trust Shepherd to lead him to the best places of all? Even better than the freshest clover? Hopefully, Sheep will learn his lesson before he gets into a problem that he can’t get himself out of. The Cast...
heep, as you see, loves clover and can't get enough of it. His love for the delectable weed ends up leading him into one problem after another.
Can anyone relate? I can. Ha! Dog is the voice of reason with his signs of warning and wisdom. Dog made me think of the Holy Spirit who guides us in the best ways to go, if we'll only listen. Listening is hard, sometimes, when we have our sights on things that seem much better at the moment. The Shepherd is the ever-present caregiver who leads his sheep to good places and along steady paths...if they are willing to follow. But as Jesus taught us in Matthew 18:12 that a good shepherd will leave the 99 others in his flock to find the one that gets lost. His abiding love will never let us wander too far away. The Book...
The Shepherd Leads Me is available in ebook, soft-cover, and I'm hoping to eventually make it available in hard cover.
After the story is a list of scriptures used in the story, the complete Psalm 23 chapter, and activity pages for parents to use for digging deeper into the story. Want to find out more?
