There's something delightful about walking out my back door in the early morning to see how my garden sanctuary is doing.
The mornings are always crisp, slightly damp with dew hanging in the air, and bright with sunbeams blasting through the budding tree branches. I'll close my eyes, breathe in deep, and listen... There's a hum of anticipation in the air The birds are always most boisterous in the mornings A cool breeze brushes over my face. When I open my eyes again, I'm amazed by the freshness of the morning. Light glistening off the damp grasses, A soft glow illuminating the flowers in the hanging basket, And new buds opening their delicate petals. His mercies are new every morning... says His word. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22 We don't have to worry... he cares for the birds of the air, dresses the fields of flowers in finery, and knows the number of hairs on our heads. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:7 I love the mornings, because whatever happened the day before is gone. Whatever dreams plagued my slumber have dissipated when I opened my groggy eyes. Today is a new day. The only day I really need to worry about. One moment at a time. "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?" Luke 12:25 & 26 Let's remember to let go of the baggage that slows us down. Shake off the fears that hinder and take a lesson from the birds-- Today is a new day, make the most of it. Sing praises. Open your hearts. Let His light warm you, comfort you, feed you. Amen.
